It can be a bit confusing to see a set of digits on your receipt that you don't recognize! Rest assured, this is actually a security feature of Apple Pay designed to keep your real card info hidden and safe.
When you use Apple Pay, Apple doesn't share your actual credit card number with HONK. Instead, they create a unique Device Account Number for your phone.
- The Receipt: The "last four digits" you see on your HONK invoice belong to this virtual security number, not your physical plastic card.
- The Transaction: Your bank knows that this virtual number is linked to your real account, so the payment processes perfectly even though the numbers look different to us.
If you want to confirm that the numbers match your Apple Wallet:
- Open the Wallet App on your iPhone.
- Tap the card you used for the transaction.
- Tap the ( ... ) or "Card Details" icon in the top right.
- Look for "Device Account Number"—you’ll see the last four digits there that match your HONK receipt!
You are 100% covered! Your payment is valid, your plate is protected, and your real credit card number was never even shared with our system. That’s top-tier privacy in action.
