We know how helpful those expiry reminders are, and it’s frustrating when one doesn't come through as expected.
While HONK sends these alerts out automatically, once they leave our system, their delivery depends on your mobile carrier and device settings. There are a few common reasons why a notification might not reach you:
Service Gaps: If you are in an area with poor cell service or are connected to a restrictive Wi-Fi network, the message may be delayed or blocked.
Device Settings: "Do Not Disturb" modes, "Sleep" settings, or having your phone turned off will prevent the alert from popping up.
Account Details: If there is a typo in the phone number or email address saved to your HONK profile, the notification won't know where to go!
Carrier Filtering: Occasionally, mobile carriers may filter automated texts as "spam."
This notification is an 'extra feature' and we do suggest that you still keep track of your parking session(s) ending on your own and extend when required, in the event that you miss the notification.
